Base Materialism is pleased to welcome the next instalment of Drooping Finger's negative mediation to the catalogue. “Clockwatching” is a 54 minute slow shifting soundscape composed of everyday field recordings processed through malfunctioning audio equipment

The result is a dreamlike realism--think grey boiler suits sweeping the floors of unoccupied commercial properties in perfect formation, at one with the hums and squeaks of a building's inner organs--stalked by the ghostly aura of the recreational complex via hyper-capital-isolationism.

The work explores the mundanity of modernity, drawing focus on the workday in the age of the zero hour contract--when the only thing worse than clocking in, is clocking out.
